Fittingly on Friday the 13th, the Gibby Center for the Arts in Middletown held an opening reception for a new art exhibit called, “Comics, Capes, and Corpses.” The exhibit, which runs until March 31, features a wide range of comic book art from area artists as well as end-of-days figurines called “Apocalypse Dolls.”

Just a quick update… in order to move the events a bit closer, the start time is now 7PM!

If you need to kill time after the con, the Gibby is open until 5PM, can may stay open later with a big enough crowd.  Or you can start to eat early at Two Nine Nine and wait for the crowd to come to you.

Or, you could try to catch a movie, at Westown Movies!

Cinderella, Run All Night, The Gun Man & Insurgent all have showtimes after 4PM so you can relax in a comfy chair and get ready for the After Party. Westown now sells beer & wine!

Here is what you need to know about tickets to the Middletown Comic Con

All ticket sales are CASH ONLY at the door.

Early Bird Tickets

Galactic Con will have a special EARLY BIRD event.  From 9AM to 10AM, you can purchase an Early Bird ticket for $10 per person.  Early Bird tickets give you the opportunity to be one of the first people in the con, before the general admission, so you can check out all the deals and get your sketchbooks in front of the artists – BEFORE they start piling up.

You can start purchasing Early Bird tickets at 8:45AM. Early Bird tickets can also be purchased online at Eventbrite.
Eventbrite DOES have a $1.54 convenience fee. You will be able to bypass the lines with your Eventbrite ticket.

General Admission

General admission begins at 10AM… Galactic Con will remain open until 4PM.
General admission for a single person is $3. That includes admission for one person, one swag bag and one raffle ticket.
Family passes are available for $5 (up to 6 people). Family passes include admission for up to 6 family members, ONE swag bag and two raffle tickets.

Hundreds of people are expected to attend Middletown’s first comic book and anime convention next month, “Galactic Con.” The event will feature dozens of vendors, artists, special guests, and people wearing a wide range of costumes, from the “Star Wars” movies to the “Sailor Moon” anime series.
